What is Toning?

What is toning?

We can’t preach it enough (but we’re gonna try). If you want to have visible muscle at rest, your best bet is to lift weights.

Hypertrophy is the increase in muscular size achieved through exercise.

THIS is the goal and the best stimulus to achieve said hypertrophy is weight lifting.

You can be the best cardio bunny there is and possibly never have visible muscle at rest (tonage).

If you feel like you’ve been putting gin the work to build a stout foundation and still aren’t seeing what you want, you may want to consider taking a look at your nutrition.

If you want to be toned, you best be prioritizing weight lifting over cardio, because what you’re saying is that you want to have visible muscle at rest, which can’t happen if you don’t have muscle.

If you have a solid foundation, but don’t feel toned, now we’re talking nutrition. A calorie deficit is required to lose the layer of body fat hiding your muscle mass. This is created by increasing your calorie expenditure or decreasing your calorie intake.
