RECOVERY AFTER OVEREATING

People, DO.NOT.PANIC.

You may be feeling extra fluffy after the holiday festivities and panic is starting to set in.

-Most importantly, FORGIVE YOURSELF. If you are gonna freak out, then don't even step on the damn scale. You can't change what choices you made the past few days (or weeks), but you can take control starting today. Don't feel guilty, talk shit about yourself, or allow yourself to continue down the slippery slope or poor eating. YOU GOT THIS.

-Clear the house of treats and temptations. Load up the fridge with fruits, fresh vegetables, and lean protein.

-HYDRATE. Drink water LIKE A BOSS. Staying hydrated can aid in digestion, flush sodium and other toxins out of your body, and reduce bloating. It will also help minimize any cravings you might experience the next few days.

-For the love of Pete, DO NOT SKIP MEALS or undereat. Commit to hitting your macros EXACTLY with fresh vegetables, whole grains, and lean sources of protein. Under-eating can impact your body's ability to recover, increase cravings, and result in poor energy.

-Be active! Go get your sweat on! Exercise delivers oxygen to the digestive track, which will improve energy and reduce bloating.

-REFLECT. Just take a quick second and decide if you would do anything different about your nutrition choices this season. Praise yourself for what positive choices you made and acknowledge the growth and mindset changes that have occurred for you during the past year! Remember, this journey is all about PROGRESS, not perfection!
