‼️Movement is not a transaction‼️
You don’t need to restrict your calories now that your gym is closed and activity looks different right now.
You don’t have to do a “hard” workout just to earn dessert or a snack.
Exercise DOES NOT MEAN you have ‘earned’ food.
➡️Here’s the deal: Calories In < Calories Out.⬅️
Using exercise to punish yourself for overeating or to ‘earn’ food creates a cycle of binging and restricting that has NEGATIVE outcomes on your physical and mental health. It also makes exercise less enjoyable and more like a transaction for food.
Although your coach may adjust YOUR macros depending on how your daily activity is changed, for most of us, drastically reducing our calories due to changes in training (or if you start overtraining to compensate for overeating) usually leads to more hunger, reduced NEAT (daily movement that occurs outside of exercise), and promotes the cycle of unhealthy thinking.
🛑STOP THE CYCLE🛑
👉🏼This is one of the most important reasons to work with a nutrition coach. It’s time to target your behaviors that are impacting your goals and ability to sustain them long-term. Changing negative behaviors and unhealthy thinking can take time and having the guidance from a coach to provide support, feedback, and research will promote long-term success!🎯
